The first breakfast meet of the year!
20.02.2022Great to see so many of our members out and...
Mark Redgrave, your friendly neighbourhoid vice chairman if ECMC is well know for his clubbie "Panda" but how did Mark end up with such a unique Clubbie?
I asked Mark about his car history and what makes Panda so special
"So here goes I’d had a mini then bought a Mercedes SLK but decided to down size and was persuaded to buy another mini by another club member, I really liked clubmans but couldn’t afford one so I bought a black Cooper R52 which I put my own Stamp on.
I really wanted something faster so when I received a bit of inheritance I when’t out and bought Panda, she’s a 2007 Cooper S Clubman. She’s been partially modified but then through some seriously good luck I’ve been able modify her further.
She’s standard engine and box, with beilstein coil overs, 18” JCW alloys. Alloy Racing Fabrications rear spoiler,de-chromed and of course there’s Woody hanging off the back.
That came about when having a coffee with another club member and discussing why she had a little octopus hanging off the rear of her car, she explained it was a drifting charm and I innocently said ooh I could have woody like in the toy story movie, she then explained her daughter had one that she no longer played with and if it was ok with her I could have it and the rest is history, to sum up Panda has sort of evolved on her own from winning the charity auction for wheel refurb and doing them gold to winning a Miltek exhaust.
The biggest gain to owning a mini has been meeting so many welcoming people who I now count as friends and I look forward to getting together with, it really is big small we love them all !!!
