A Mini Addiction
We sat down( well over the computer screen) with one of our long time members Jeanette "Net" Cotton for a chat about how she has managed to own 22 mini in just 10 years.
I first meet Net at my first meet about 7 years ago, having just bought my first Cooper S and my third mini, at the time she was driving her yellow famous Clubbie
Always first to welcome a newbie like me,little did i know she was just at the beginning for her mini adventure. Net has been a regular at meets over the years, usually she can be found with a cake or drink in the boot for the members, and is a source of advise on parts and modifications.
I asked Net how she got started and with MINIs back in the day.
"Well it all started at Easter 2010 I went into Coopers Ipswich and bought "jack "blind from Scotland when he turned up with a faded Union Jack roof and odd tyres I thought what have I done! They agreed to rectify it but in the first month of ownership jack went back to Coopers 17 days out of 30 but I persevered and the rest is history!"
Net, 22 is a lot of Minis....
"Yes I’ve had a few of them! but 6 of them were sold because people offered me money I couldn’t refuse on them!"
The biggest mistake was buying a brand new roadster it was my first ever convertible and just found it too claustrophobic and I lost a large sum of money in three months a lesson never to be repeated. "
Did you ever find the ideal car?
"I’d finally found the ideal paceman but due to working giving me a company car there’s no point paying for a car I will never use hence it is up for sale .
My favourite will also be the yellow clubbie closely followed by the f56 jcw."
Net has won various awards from Ecmc for the dedication over the years, and has been to nearly every MINI event over the years.
We look forward to seeing what she ends up in next, i lost count of how many time she has said to me, no more!!
Thanks to Net for her time and below is a gallery of her cars over the years
